Last Week of Fundraiser

This is our final week of the fundraiser. We appreciate everyone's generosity thus far, but have a ways to go to reach our goal. Whether we do or not, this does make a difference in Phoebe's Fight and her journey to get better. Let's remember what a determined, beautiful girl she is and all that her family has done to make sure she gets the best care out there.

Thanks to everyone who has participated in our kick off this week! We are well on our way to accomplishing the goal we set for Mother's Day, and feel blessed by the response thus far. The love people have for Phoebe and the family is so profound. Thanks again!

Beginning

This weekend is the "kickoff" of our fundraiser for Phoebe and her family. The recent updates from Becky on Caring Bridge are so full of hope and give all of us a unique look into the reality of this struggle. Heart wrenching it is and of course such a mystery. We cannot help but ask why. Let us all take this chance to reach out to the Phoebe, her Mom and Dad and little brother to experience the power of giving. We would like the power of numbers working here. If we all just give a little we can really save lots for the McFarland's. We encourage you to send this to as many people you know. You can have your own little mini fund raiser if you would like. Have a bake sale or sell a piece of artwork on their behalf. The possibilities are endless!! Thank you!!

Why has she been in the hospital???

Phoebe was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor (JPA) in February of 2007. The details of her ordeal have been cataloged by Becky at caringbridge.org/visit/phoebemcfarland. Go to this sight if you have not already! After the initial ordeal removing a very large tumor, Phoebe has had an MRI every three months, LOTS of continued care and therapy. The return of this tumor took her back into the hospital this past February. Her stay concluded on March 6th after 6 weeks in the hospital. The battle is hardly over yet. We hope that being at home will speed up her recovery. Becky& Matt have had to learn nursing skills I am sure they care not to know but no doubt are giving their daughter and son the best of themselves.
